Yes! There is a Del Mar also near San Diego. Home of the racetrack. Really, our first real weekend in San Diego since we arrived from our road trip. So we ponied up and went to the racetrack to see some horses run in circles.

It’s also home of the $8.75 12oz Coors light. It was a warm day so the cold beers were much needed! We got right after it with the betting – Laura immediately picked out her horses of Sunset Glow and Ive Gotafeeling. Sunset because, duh, we like our sunsets. And Ive Gotafeeling because it was one of the songs in my sister’s wedding. While my bets weren’t to much more thought out, I did play it safe with Win, Place, Show and manage to stay even through the day. (Betting at least…like I said, beers were $8.75)

We even managed to bet on the intermission races. Yes, Weiner Dogs.

It was an awesome time. Lucky for us, there is a short train ride and bus shuttle that we were able to take so we didn’t have to worry about driving.

And at the end of the night, why not end it with more of our favorite things? Ice cream! okay, so technically frozen yogurt.
